Career: Following an above-the-knee amputation, Simon chose to pursue a career in Prosthetics & Orthotics, training at The University of Salford.
Since graduating in 2013 he has worked in the NHS in both Prosthetics & Orthotics. During his time in the NHS, he has built up a wealth of experience working with adults, paediatrics, and military veterans. As a service user himself he finds that he is able to build rapport with patients which helps with consultations.
Simon joined Pace Rehabilitation as an expert witness in 2020.
Qualifications: Simon is a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Prosthetist/Orthotist who graduated from the University of Salford in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics/Orthotics.

(Upper Limb) – Naked Prosthetics – Functional digits
Other: Simon has experience working with military veterans, using advanced electronic microprocessor controlled prosthetic devices as well as a range of sporting prostheses and prosthetic adaptations.
He has supported numerous expeditions, activities and exercises for both military units & charities, youth groups and civilian charities: providing both prosthetic support and activity specific adaptations. Most recently he consulted on prosthetics for an individual’s attempt to summit the Matterhorn as a bilateral amputee.
In addition to his professional work, Simon has a keen interest in Outdoor sports and hold certifications and qualifications across a broad spectrum of activities from PT, Paddlesports, Rock climbing and motor sports. He is currently training to take part in the Race Across America (RAAM), a team cycle ride made up of injured veterans who will cover the distance of over 3000 miles & 12 states within 9 days.
