Prosthetics
The best prosthetic provision is tailored to meet an individual’s needs and circumstances.
At Pace we are good at this, assessing each patient carefully in our clinics and asking the right questions so that we can produce equipment that ticks all the boxes.
Prostheses are tried out and delivered in a multidisciplinary environment, typically involving complimentary therapy services, to make sure that the user can experience it properly, in real life situations before it is finalised.
If we are unsure of which is the right specification for the user, together we may evaluate more than one product before deciding how to proceed.
Sometimes not all requirements can be met by a single prosthesis, in which case we may suggest making more than one to ensure that all needs are met. We can prioritise together where to start and how to proceed with the provision.
Our clinicians endeavor to keep abreast of the latest developments to make sure the most up to date components and interface principles are always available at our clinics.
They are trained and sometimes certified by manufacturers to use powered and micro-processor-controlled products such as the Genium and Rheo knees, Empower and Elan feet, as well as upper extremity products like Michelangelo and i-Limb Quantum.
Our prosthetic team also include skillful technicians that produce the devices for you. They have vast experience in their field and use up to date manufacturing techniques to deliver either real eye catching or maybe very discrete prostheses, all depending on what you want.
More details about bespoke finishes, including Limb-Art (pictured left) or UNYQ covers (Pace is an official provider for both products), can be read on our Personalising prostheses guide.
