Patient Adjustable Sockets
The team at Pace has considerable experience with, and is producing ever more, patient adjustable sockets (PAS).
There are a variety of systems commercially available and through our keen attention to detail and leading manufacture techniques, we have achieved very successful outcomes for patients with the Revofit (BOA) system, for both above and below the knee amputee patients.
The BOA system is used within a conventional socket build, but allows the user the flexibility to self-tighten as required, whilst maintaining support where required around the brim. The socket uses conventional adaptors to fix to the prosthetic knee.
We have incorporated this type of self-tightening system with gold medal winning para triathletes; typical active amputees; and those who are less active but who welcome the opportunity to tighten the socket themselves. It does add some cost, compared to a ‘standard’ socket, due to the kit and additional manufacture time required, however it can provide the user with invaluable adjustment.
