Career: Following a motorcycle accident which resulted in a below the knee amputation, Jamie left the Army to re-train as a Prosthetist/Orthotist. On graduation he initially worked within the NHS before taking a position working with the research and development team of a leading prosthetic manufacturer in Iceland. With the same company, he travelled extensively to over 20 countries providing clinical and educational support for local rehabilitation specialists and prosthetic teams. Since 2006, Jamie has worked for Pace Rehabilitation in Buckinghamshire providing clinical prosthetic support and expert witness services.
Qualifications:
Jamie is a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Prosthetist/Orthotist who graduated from the University of Salford during 2000 with a BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics/Orthotics.

Recent activities:
Jamie has considerable experience with advanced electronic microprocessor controlled lower limb prosthetic devices including Genium knee and BiOM foot as well as a range of sporting prostheses and more conventional designs.
Jamie has been involved with military charities including BLESMA and Walking with the Wounded. He has assisted with prosthetic support during expeditions to the North and South Poles involving military injured amputees and Walk of Britain during 2015, a 1000 mile by military injured throughout the UK.
He has recently been involved with an increasing number of patients who have received Osseointegration/Direct Skeletal Fixation. As a part of improving his knowledge in this area, he travelled to Australia during February 2015 to work with Dr Munjed Al Muderis and his surgical and rehabilitation team.
Recently, Jamie has provided support and expertise to the TV and film industry when amputees have been used within productions.
In addition to his work, Jamie has maintained a keen interest in sport. He represented GB as a sprinter during the 1996 Paralympic games and a number of international competitions. More recently during 2014, he swam the English Channel as a part of a 4 man amputee relay team. Outside of work he is kept busy with a young family and enjoys running with a local running club as well as walking the dog.
