Pace Rehabilitation’s new Buckinghamshire clinic is officially OPEN!
On the 28th of March 2019, after a decade in nearby Chesham, the doors of Pace Rehabilitation’s impressive new clinical facility in Amersham (Bucks) have been formally opened by quadruple limb amputee Alex Lewis, with Amersham Mayor Cllr. Caroline Jones (pictured – right)
More than seventy guests, including patients, referrers and representatives from the personal injury sector toured the spacious three-storey building, visiting the four clinic rooms, gym and manufacturing facilities.
The afternoon included a selection of demonstrations, providing guests with a flavor of Pace’s multidisciplinary team approach to rehabilitation for patients who have sustained limb loss or serious limb injury.
In addition to upper and lower limb amputee patients who were demonstrating the very latest prosthetic technology, Pace’s impressive therapy services were also showcased, as knee disarticulation patient and Paralympic sprinter Julie Rogers (pictured – below) and transtibial amputee Stephen were put through their paces, with drills from Pace’s specialist physiotherapists.
Visitors also took the opportunity to visit the exhibition stands of world leading prosthetic component suppliers and amputee charities who were also in attendance at the informative day.
Glasses were charged as Pace founder and prosthetist Toby Carlsson invited Alex and Caroline to formally open the new premises.
As Toby explained, “We recently moved our clinic in Cheshire and immediately realised what a positive impact it had on our services to work from larger and fully bespoke premises. It was apparently clear that we needed to do the same in Chesham as soon as we could.” He added, “This move enables us to expand our activities and particularly increase the therapy services which we know are crucial to optimise outcomes for our patients.
“Today’s official opening is also the launch pad for our Your360 program, a highly individual program facilitating swift progress as patients spend whole days with the rehab team in focused episodes. Whilst we have always provided this kind of bespoke service, the Your360 structure makers it easier and more cost effective to access, benefiting both patients and referrers.”
Alex faultlessly unveiled the plaque marking the building officially open.
